About us
Suncoast building design began as a small start up between two young passionate building designers. Our goal was to create a design service that we were both passionate about by creating a signature style combining both city and coastal living. Modern contemporary design is our main style whilst incorporating sustainable passive design techniques.
Our main focus being liveability & personal occupant interaction with a dwelling.
Co-directors Stephen Bryan & Matthew Morelli come from opposite ends of Australia being Melbourne & Sunshine Coast, it was this co-operative that abled us to create the perfect harmony of city & coast design.
Both with over 10 years experience in the industry our passion for creative design gets stronger & stronger.
Sustainable design practice
We are dedicated to implementing sustainable design practices in all of our projects. We incorporate passive design techniques such as natural light and thermal mass to reduce the need for mechanical heating and cooling systems, thereby decreasing energy consumption.
Additionally, we prioritise the use of materials and products with a low environmental impact such as sustainably harvested or produced materials and products with a high recycled content and low volatile organic compounds. We believe in educating our clients on the benefits of sustainable design, by providing information on how it can improve overall well-being and provide long-term cost savings. We hope to empower clients to make informed decisions that will benefit them and the environment.
Stephen Bryan
With now over 17 years of experience in building design, Stephen has implemented his spot on the Sunshine Coast. Involved in multiple award-winning designs he has created some great relationships on the coast. Starting design at the age of 15 Stephen has always had a real passion for architecture and design. His design flair and unconventional approach is the reason he has been able to achieve what he has to date.
Matthew Morelli
Initially studying building sustainability and thermal performance. Matthew decided to apply his knowledge to design. With a keen eye for functional building performance and sustainably, he works to implement these features into all his designs. A real people person he loves working alongside clients, builders, and other consultants to ensure an enjoyable and smooth design & building process.
